Job Description:

Maintenance operations on helicopters are key activities for Airbus customers.

In this way, maintenance workload must be optimized in order to maximize helicopter fleet availability and meet customer expectations.

To enable this ambition, a position of Mechanical Engineer for Helicopter Maintenance Design has just opened within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

You will be part of "Maintenance & Ground operations" Department, and you will contribute to the aircraft Maintenance Design, in terms of Human Factors & Maintainability .
Human Factors & Maintainability activity permits to ensure safe & efficient helicopter maintenance for the end Customers.
The HF & Maintainability team is based in Marignane (France) and Donauworth (Germany); both teams work closely together to harmonize methods and share experiences.

Location

The described position is applicable to AH Marignane site.

Tasks and responsibilities

By taking over the job, you will be in charge of following operational technical activities:

  • Maintainability analysis to check accessibility & feasibility of maintenance tasks and compliance to helicopter maintenance policy
  • Ergonomic and Human Factors analysis to reduce maintenance errors and risks for operators and helicopters
  • Challenge system design and integration with regards to maintenance policy & requirements
  • Contribution to maintenance procedures development & demonstration on helicopter for validation
  • Maintenance Time Analysis to evaluate different system designs with regards to induced maintenance for customer
  • Major Incident investigation and analysis (linked to maintenance)
  • Creation of technical notes and presentation
  • Presentation to internal stakeholders and customers
  • Management and responsibility of HF & Maintainability analysis on helicopter sub-systems
  • Interaction with various departments in Design Office and Service & Support organisations

Your tasks will be supervised by a technical referent.

Desired skills and qualifications

You are autonomous, organized and accountable.

You are a mechanical engineer specialized in aeronautic mechanics or a certified aircraft engineer with less than 3 years of experience.
Knowledge on helicopter systems would be appreciated.

Maintainability and ergonomic human factors analysis may be performed digitally (CATIA or Virtual Reality) or on Helicopter through test.

Basic knowledge on CATIA V5 is essential.

Knowledge on ergonomics would be appreciated.
Fluent English is essential to evolve in the international environment.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
