In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new Sub-system Design & Integration Responsible for Mechanical Flight Control Systems (m/f/d).

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours (30) and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your mission:

Design, develop and support the serial activities within the domain of the mechanical flight control, hydraulics and actuators from Helicopters.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Constructive support for the entire product life cycle, taking into account function, weight, costs, certification, manufacturing and maintainability issues
  • Mechanical design and integration of the systems and components of the flight control, hydraulics and actuators in CATIA V5
  • Use mainly metallic materials for the construction of the kinematics of the flight control, apply detailed knowledge of metallic materials, manufacturing processes and surface treatment
  • Integration of mechanical flight control systems, hydraulics and actuators in the helicopter (including interfaces)
  • Execution of assembly and integration studies, creation of detailed constructions and construction documents in CATIA V5 & VPM
  • Realization of the 2D drawings in accordance with the 3D studies
  • Validation of the drawings if they have been performed by a sub-contractor. Supervision & guidance of sub-contractors
  • Kinematics analyzes regarding control paths, tolerances and rigging in CATIA V5
  • Approval of construction documents and documents in SAP or Windchill
  • Contribution to the creation of the documentation for design and construction as well as the documents for qualification and certification
  • Shaping the creation of maintenance concepts and maintenance documentation
  • Changes to existing design / production documents as well as documents for the implementation of product improvements and treatment of obsolescence
  • Support the production non conformities treatment
  • Contribution to continued airworthiness (major incident treatment)
  • Close cooperation with architects, airframe, avionics, autopilot, flight physics, statics verification / loads, final assembly, customer support, flight test pilots
  • Collaboration with German, French, and international suppliers for the development, qualification, testing, series support, obsolescence management, and maintenance of airworthiness.


Required skills:

  • Completed study degree (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable field)
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engineering, ideally in the aerospace environment
  • Several years of experience and profound knowledge in mechanical design and integration
  • Eexperience in using CATIA V5, Windchill, SAP
  • Profound hydraulics knowledge
  • Experience in collaborating with and/or coordinating suppliers
  • Language skills: Business fluent English and good German skills

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
