Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Deputy to the Head of Propulsion Industrial & Quality Business Support for Primary Flight Controls to join our Propulsion Supply Chain & Quality team based in Toulouse, France.

Within the Propulsion Industrial & Quality Business Support Team (“PIPX”), you will join the central PIP team which covers transversal Industrial and Quality topics, transformation projects, and performance management. In this context, “PIPX” also supports the operational “PIP” teams in their day-to-day business. You will work closely with all “PIP” teams, as well as Airbus stakeholders (e.g. Supply Chain Quality, Quality, Propulsion Procurement, Engineering) and Propulsion manufacturers.

Your challenges :

  • The jobholder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of the team.
  • The jobholder is responsible for supporting the team by driving global business performance and mid-term priorities, representing the team in various forums, and driving and structuring improvements in activities, processes, and tools.
  • The jobholder replaces the Head of the team to represent the team whenever required in regular or ad-hoc forums. He/She captures the main actions, monitors them through to closure, and manages communication with internal stakeholders.
  • The jobholder is accountable for improving the performance of the team’s global operating system. He/She defines/clarifies processes, roles, and tools. He/She defines and organizes workshops for the team or with other functions to address specific issues. He/She directly participates in the team dynamic and runs the team organization and people review with the Ho PIPX. He/She brings his/her experience/expertise to support team members by guiding and coaching them as required. He/She pushes the team to step back and defines improvement actions.
  • He/She provides operational support in case of resource challenges.
  • He/She manages subcontracted activities.
  • He/She manages the team budget, identifies needs and opportunities, and supports the AOP (Annual Operating Plan).
  • In a very dynamic business environment, the jobholder anticipates risks that may impact the team’s activities and priorities. He/She suggests changes and adaptations to be made.
  • In collaboration with the Ho PIPX, he/she is responsible for prioritizing/arbitrating tasks, identifying internal bottlenecks, and ensuring solutions are defined.
  • He/She directly participates in the team strategy, People Risk and Opportunities, succession planning, the People Development plan, and customer/stakeholder satisfaction.
  • The jobholder pays constant attention to the well-being of the team and leverages his/her responsibilities and connections across the entire Propulsion commodity to address concerns and maintain a high level of well-being and engagement.

Your boarding pass :

  • Experience in the aerospace industry with a solid understanding of the Propulsion environment.
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain and Quality.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Caring Leadership & Team Development: Positive, open-minded management, focused on employee growth and attentive to their well-being.
  • Influential Leadership & Diplomacy: Ability to convince, align, and influence diverse audiences, with high adaptability to multicultural environments.
  • Resilience & Stress Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and solve complex problems with a calm and methodical approach.
  • Accountability & Initiative: High level of autonomy, decisive mindset, proactivity, and result-driven (customer-oriented) culture.
  • Team Spirit & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and comfort in cooperating within global, complex organizations.
  • Negotiation level of English is mandatory.
