Job Title/Role : Buyer - JV Procurement

Location : Gurgaon, India (AITC - JV Site)

Experience Level : 8+ years of experience in procurement roles

Brief Description : The Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities across all commodities (Engineering, Digital, Consulting, Corporate Services, Spare etc.) for the Airbus-Air India Joint Venture (AITC - JV). The role focuses on implementing Airbus procurement processes, ensuring supplier lifecycle management, and maintaining compliance, governance, and integrity. This is an individual contributor role, reporting directly to the JV board and functionally to Ho GP - Airbus (General Procurement), and requires delivering projects within timelines and committed milestones .

Key Deliverables:

  • Seamless execution of Call for Tender (CFT) processes.
  • Supplier onboarding and performance management across all commodities.
  • Strict compliance with procurement governance, ethical standards and Airbus processes.
  • Delivery of procurement JV related projects on committed timelines and milestones.
  • Risk mitigation and process optimization to enhance procurement efficiency.

Key Role & Responsibilities :

1. Procurement Strategy and Operations:

  • Manage procurement activities across multiple commodities, ensuring alignment with JV objectives and Airbus processes.
  • Lead and execute the Call for Tender (CFT) process, including strategy definition, supplier engagement, negotiations and contract closure.
  • Drive the supplier onboarding process, ensuring suppliers meet compliance, quality and performance criteria.

2. Compliance and Integrity:

  • Ensure adherence to procurement governance, ethical standards, and Airbus compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to fraud, non-compliance, and supplier governance.
  • Enforce a structured approach to contract lifecycle management and supplier audits.

3. Supplier and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and sustain value-driven relationships with suppliers across various commodity domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, digital, consulting, etc.) to deliver procurement projects within timelines and committed milestones.
  • Work closely with JV board members and stakeholders, providing clarity on procurement status, KPIs, and risk assessments.

4. Focus on Timelines and Commitments:

  • Ensure timely delivery of procurement activities and supplier engagements as per defined project schedules.
  • Optimize workflows to enhance procurement efficiency and meet business-critical deadlines.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes: sourcing, tendering (CFT), supplier onboarding, and contract management.
  • Expertise in managing multi-commodity procurement activities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong compliance mindset with an ability to enforce governance and risk mitigation processes.
  • Proven project management skills with a focus on timelines and delivery commitments.
  • Highly analytical, results-oriented, and committed to optimizing procurement efficiency.
  • Familiarity with ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Coupa..) and supplier management platforms.

Qualifications and Experience Levels

  • A Master Degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 6+ years of working experience in Procurement / Sourcing, with overall min. 10 years of relevant industry experience preferably in IT / Sales / Manufacturing
  • Strong in Project / program management with relevant experience
  • Offshoring / Outsourcing experience is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers or external vendors
  • Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, processes, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

Candidate is able to / should be

  • Have a high level of autonomy but not individualist, able to work with remote management and colleagues in distributed teams.
  • Understand Corporate Services, Engineering or IT services processes
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems including data analysis and reporting
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google suite, Advance Excel and Presentations
  • Speak fluently in English
  • Act in ethical manner and shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings
  • Assertive, Resilient, Proactive in contributions to the team management
  • Self aware, optimistic, active listener, willing to learn
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate. Convey verbal and written information effectively to all stakeholders (European / Indian) and across multiple levels of hierarchy
  • This role will involve some travels both locally and globally for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
