An opportunity for a Airworthiness & Quality Engineer (Logistics/Procurement) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Quality Logistics and Transport Team (part of Procurement Quality). Our main mission is to secure the implementation and application of Quality standards to Transport & Logistics across all Air Power programs. We focus on protecting product integrity from supplier dispatch to final receipt, ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations (PART21 and PART145), and preventing any logistics or transport-related non-conformities that could impact safety or certification.

The team is dynamic, collaborative, and works closely with internal business units, local teams, and external stakeholders. The jobholder will reinforce our warehouse and certifying activities, taking part in material certification processes, quality inspections, and new initiatives to improve material management for our manufacturing customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Certify aeronautical material with airworthiness certificates in accordance with Civil and Military regulations (EASA/Peram/Emar/CAA Part 21 & Part 145), checking directives, validating documentation, and resolving system discrepancies.
  • Secure QMS compliance by contributing to the integrity of the Quality Management System in front of official regulations and requirements (EN9100, PECAL/AQAP, Part 21/145).
  • Manage non-conformances and incidents by launching corrective and preventive actions, leading root cause analysis investigations (PPS, 5Why's, RCA), and managing customer complaints.
  • Monitor and optimize logistics flows by surveying the aeronautical material reception flow at the Logistics Service Provider, tracking quality performance, and updating key KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by deploying optimization projects to increase process performance, product adherence to standards, and customer satisfaction using Lean methods.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and auditing teams (both internal and external) to ensure alignment with production requirements.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Quality, Logistics, Production, or Manufacturing, with a strong understanding of airworthiness.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong experience with quality tools (8D, PPS, RCA), Lean methods, and process improvement.
  • Languages: Advanced / Negotiation level in English.
  • Soft skills: High level of accountability, zero-defect mindset, risk-based thinking, and strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Knowledge of Civil and Military approvals (EASA/CAA/FAA), Quality IT tools, and an advanced level of French will be highly valued. Willingness to travel and work in different shifts if required.
