Job: Associate Manager – Information Assurance & Secure by Design

Career Level: Associate Manager

Location: UK Nationwide, preference for Cheltenham/ Bristol/ London/ Manchester

Please Note: Due to the nature of client work you will be undertaking, you will need to be willing to go through a Security Clearance process as part of this role, which requires 5+ years UK address history at the point of application.

As an Information Assurance & Secure by Design Associate Manager you will lead the delivery of security assurance and Secure by Design outcomes across complex UK Government, Defence and Government Supply Chain programmes.

You will be responsible for managing delivery teams, shaping client security strategies and ensuring successful outcomes across multiple projects and engagements. Combining strong consulting skills with deep security expertise, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients while helping grow and mature Accenture's Secure by Design capability.

In our team you will:

  • Lead Secure by Design & Information Assurance Delivery. Lead the delivery of complex Information Assurance, Secure by Design and Security Transformation engagements for Government, Defence and National Security clients. Provide strategic and practical guidance on embedding security throughout the system and service lifecycle. Oversee the development of assurance artefacts including security management plans, risk assessments, accreditation evidence, security requirements and compliance documentation. Ensure delivery quality across multiple projects, providing governance, direction and technical oversight to delivery teams.
  • Act as a Trusted Client Advisor. Develop and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders, including senior security, technology and programme leadership. Facilitate executive discussions, workshops and decision-making forums to help clients understand, prioritise and address security risks. Translate complex security concepts into business-focused recommendations and actionable outcomes. Support clients in navigating evolving regulatory, policy and assurance requirements.
  • Lead People and Delivery Teams. Manage, coach and develop Consultants and Analysts, providing day-to-day leadership, mentoring and career guidance. Build high-performing teams that can deliver consistently across multiple client engagements. Support workforce planning, mobilisation and delivery management activities. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and delivery excellence.
  • Shape Solutions and Grow the Business. Support the development of client opportunities, proposals and bids helping shape security solutions that address client challenges. Contribute to growth by identifying opportunities to expand Accenture’s Information Assurance, Secure by Design and broader Cybersecurity capabilities. Support senior leadership in developing client relationships and strategic growth initiatives. Contribute to thought leadership, methodology development and capability growth across the Cybersecurity practice.
  • Drive Practice Expertise. Act as a recognised subject matter expert within Information Assurance and Secure by Design. Develop reusable assets, frameworks, approaches and best practice to improve delivery consistency and efficiency. Support the evolution of Accenture’s Secure by Design offerings, particularly within Defence, Government and Government Supply Chain sectors.

The following skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • Strong understanding of secure system lifecycle principles and risk-based assurance with experience and familiarity with NIST, NCSC guidance and HMG policy such as GovS 007 and Secure by Design. Familiarity with recognised security standards and frameworks for Cloud Security.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain security risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Communication and engagement skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience delivering and presenting deliverables and/or ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Project Delivery capabilities with the ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage multiple delivery commitments.
  • Industry experience within the Public Sector, Critical National Infrastructure and/or HMG Supply Chain Security.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering information assurance, cyber security or Secure by Design activities in complex environments.

Desirable experience for this role:

  • Significant experience supporting UK Government, Defence, National Security, Critical National Infrastructure and/or Government Supply Chain clients.
  • Understanding of the challenges associated with delivering secure digital transformation within highly regulated environments.

Set yourself apart:

  • Relevant qualifications such as CISSP, CISM or similar
  • Experience delivering assurance and security activities within cloud, digital transformation or enterprise technology programmes.
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals and business development activities.
  • Experience leading Secure by Design, accreditation or security governance functions across large and complex programmes.
  • Experience developing new service offerings, delivery methodologies or security capabilities.
