The Role

Unibuddy has experienced explosive growth since launching in 2017. We now work with 500 higher ed institutions in 35 countries worldwide. As Senior People Partner, you will be tasked with scaling that cultural DNA around the world, enabling us to grow even faster because Buddies feel inspired and empowered working at Unibuddy.

Your mission is to work with VP People, wider People Team, and business leaders to develop and deliver strategic and focussed people solutions with a clear link to driving business strategy and metrics. You’ll own the core people functions of employee relations, policies and compliance, performance, and learning and development.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and implementing the People strategy working in collaboration with the VP People and senior management team.
  • Building a deep understanding of the Unibuddy strategy and priorities in your business areas.
  • Working closely with the Exec and Senior Management team to drive the development and effectiveness of the structure and operating model for the area of business supported.
  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition and People Operations to help shape best practices and collaborate in delivery and execution.
  • On an ongoing and cyclical basis: lead, coach and guide areas of:
    • Performance Management
    • Salary reviews
    • Organisation and Talent Reviews
    • Employee surveys
  • Applying diverse and inclusive people-focussed solutions.
  • Partner with people managers to guide and support them on managing, recognising, developing and growing their teams.
  • Coach and develop managers to become confident and self-sufficient in first-line HR matters.
  • Use data to develop, share insight and recommend solutions to improve performance, talent management, learning and development and engagement.
  • Support us to achieve our ambition of being the employer of choice across the globe.
  • Be a cultural ambassador, championing our values and making sure they’re part of all of everything we do.

This might be for you if…

  • You have recent experience gained in a generalist HR Business Partner or Senior People Partner role. We’re thinking 5 years +.
  • You have a strategic mindset and demonstrated success partnering with teams to help them achieve their business goals.
  • You have been a People Partner at a scaling company. Perhaps from Series-A to Series-C and beyond, or from < 100 employees to upwards of 200.
  • You’re an advisor, coach, and mentor on a full remit of a variety of employee relations.
  • You use your expertise to help solve issues, creating and maintaining positive relationships between employers and employees.
  • You have a breadth of HR experience and are hands-on in performance management, succession planning, L&D, benefits & payroll.
  • You have knowledge of policies, compliance, and employment laws in multiple locations (UK, India, US, Singapore).
  • You can help us continuously develop and champion a truly inclusive workplace.

It would be a bonus if you could bring…

  • Gained or working towards CIPD qualification at level 5+

We’ve made some great and early investments in People systems & infrastructure; both of these things give a platform for the right person to work as a genuine partner to the Exec and Senior Management teams and have a big impact quickly.

Heading into 2022, our core focus areas on our People agenda are; engagement, learning & development, operations, and performance culture. Longer-term, you’ll be laying the People team foundation as we grow from 135 employees globally to 200, 300, 500, and beyond.
