FINANCE

We're a global team with a presence in all of our locations around the world. Our biggest teams are based in the UK and Portugal. Our team in Porto focuses on financial reporting and operations, while the Group Finance team in London is made up of Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury and Commercial Finance. All of our teams play an instrumental role within the business, from developing best practice, delivering strategic projects and helping us to tell our story with data.

LONDON

Our office is located in Old Street, London's tech hub. Our open-plan space is ideal for collaborative working. When you're not doing what's never been done, you can enjoy a team lunch on our large outdoor terrace, or join a yoga class in our dedicated studio.

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity to join the Indirect Tax team of a dynamic, fast growing technology business supporting the expansion of the Group and improving assurance on VAT applicable to the Group. The successful candidate will be key person of contact for indirect tax affairs for our retail and wholesale business reporting to the Head of Indirect Tax. You will provide a high degree of exposure to various VAT and Customs related matters in the UK and in the EU. You will be part of a team responsible for advisory, tax technology and project management composed by global specialists in all aspects of indirect tax and global supply chain. You will be expected to define and implement solutions to achieve compliance with regulations and laws, as well to optimise the business from an indirect tax perspective. You will provide practical, commercial advice to the respective teams which compose each business line, build relationships with them and be a trusted adviser for them on all aspects related to indirect tax.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide support on indirect tax structuring projects and new initiatives related to business lines based in UK and EU and on their global expansion plan & propose new opportunities of improvement and risk mitigation activities;
  • Ensure all requirements from the VAT Compliance & Reporting team are being meet by these business lines;
  • Be the contact for indirect tax questions to your internal clients;
  • Establish and prioritise projects to mitigate risk and improve our tax position;
  • Identify and implement cash-flow saving opportunities, (DAN, PIV, RGR, etc)
  • Provide VAT technical support and prepare draft replies on complex VAT matters for non-tax stakeholders
  • Ensure that all VAT risks facing Farfetch are flagged to the wider indirect tax team
  • Build constructive relationships with the business line teams and support them on their business goals

WHO YOU ARE

  • EU VAT experience is highly desired;
  • Experience in fashion industry and / or retail desirable
  • Explain complex VAT points to non-tax stakeholders
  • Operate in an organisation undergoing tremendous growth
  • Manage multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) whilst retaining integrity
