David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is a highly effective wildlife conservation charity operating across Africa and Asia to end wildlife crime. DSWF adopts a holistic approach to conservation that takes into consideration the vital importance of people in the fight to protect the world’s most endangered wildlife. Through dedication and hard work, DSWF has influenced policy, shifted attitudes and provided an unwavering voice for wildlife conservation, from grass roots to the world stage, for over 36 years. Over £11 million has been raised so far to fund essential wildlife protection across the world.
Purpose of the role
The Digital Design & Content Executive will play an important role executing DSWF’s approved digital strategy. The successful candidate will work with the communications team to create and implement engaging content across DSWF’s social channels and website as well as designing high quality in-house printed collateral. Line-managed by the Communications & Creative Content Manager and Marketing & PR Manager, the Digital Design and Content Executive will work closely with all departments to ensure brand visibility, digital growth and exposure.
Responsibilities
The Digital Design & Content Executive is responsible for developing and posting innovative design-led content that engages our audiences on social media, day to day management of our website and creating design-led assets to support communication and fundraising activities.
Key responsibilities are split into three main categories:
Social Media
Responsible for DSWF’s social media channels, monitoring day-to-day queries, posting daily on relevant channels and identifying opportunities for new content in collaboration with the Communications & Creative Content Manager.
Working closely with the Fundraising and Events Team to plan, co-ordinate, commission, edit and deliver stimulating content across the charity’s social media channels to drive interest and engage with followers.
Ensuring interactive and engaging, trend led content across social media in support of the communication, conservation, art and fundraising activities of DSWF.
Working to build audiences across social media channels, driving interactions and traffic at important points in the DSWF fundraising and events calendar and in support of DSWF’s growth plans.
Video and media editing using Adobe software, including adding captions for creating shareable video content.
Website
Day to day content management of the DSWF website, responsible for ensuring copy and imagery is kept fresh, fully updated and optimised.
Creation of WordPress pages, galleries and blog posts (including uploading imagery, executing back end updates like menus, categories, forms) and making revisions to the DSWF Woo Commerce shop.
Working with the Marketing & PR Manager to identify and implement improvements to engage visitors and increase visibility.
Graphic Design
Design and production of communication and fundraising materials for print and electronic distribution, including leaflets, banners, presentations, branded digital elements and other collateral.
Image processing and photo editing for print and online distribution.
Ensure brand consistency across all DSWF channels, ensuring correct logo and brand is displayed and consistent.
Working with the Communications & Creative Content Manager to create, schedule and distribute DSWF’s monthly newsletter and other targeted mailouts.
Working with the Marketing & PR Manager to create digital content for the DSWF website.

Skill - Demonstrable experience working in a marketing, communications and/or graphic design environment

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with additional hours as required as necessary.
Reports to:
Communications & Creative Content Manager and Marketing & PR Manager (co-line management)
Holiday:
20 days per annum rising to 22 days after two years’ service. An extra one day per annum will be given thereafter to a maximum of 25 days per annum. Bank Holidays also provided, and an additional holiday entitlement will be given at DSWF's discretion around Christmas and New Year.

Flexible - Working from home and office based in London or Shalford, Surrey
