Role Purpose

Reporting and developing monthly gap and trend analyses for income statement and the balance sheet. The role requires interacting with many functions within the organization using this information such as top management, finance, marketing, customer operations, technology and VF group.

Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership

  • Responsible for coordination of monthly closing with all stakeholders
  • Setting controls over the end to end monthly closing process with stakeholders internally and externally
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policy relating to all revenue streams, direct costs and Opex.
  • Responsible for Hyperion submission (HFM) on monthly basis for financials and non-financials while complying with group policy, deadline and procedures.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual packs to CFO and Directors with sufficient Financial and Non-Financial KPIs with gap analysis
  • Presenting actual monthly performance in segmented view and by product portfolio with relevant KPIs.
  • Responsible for holding Performance meetings for Opex review and Margins review.
  • Driving company's efficiencies and identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • In depth analysis for Month over Month, Quarter over Quarter and Year over Year performance KPIs while identifying opportunities/risks while setting action plans with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Producing trends analysis by product/segment
  • Producing normalized performance reviews as opposed to actual booking to review actual performance and KPIs in comparison to budget
  • Creating profitability analysis for the total company view, by product and by segment highlighting key drivers for each cost element
  • Presenting to Vodacom on monthly and quarterly basis financial and non-financial performance while reflecting on a YTG performance and risks

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Financial and accounting solid understanding.
  • Have a drive and personal presence.
  • Able to engage and influence others.

Technical / professional qualifications:

  • 4 to 9 years of experience
  • Financial, commercial and accounting background.
  • Business or accounting Study.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel).
