Job Description

Field Sales Executive, Mandarin Speaking (Birmingham)

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Field Sales Executive, Mandarin Speaking to join our Birmingham team. In this role, you’ll help us expand our restaurant network across the West Midlands, ensuring the best Chinese cuisine is available to our customers.

Get to know our Commercial team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Chinese Category team within the UKI Commercial function. We are experts in the local markets we serve, identifying growth opportunities in regional hubs like Birmingham to ensure Deliveroo remains the platform of choice for high-quality Chinese restaurant partners.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Prospect and Close: Map, pitch, and sign top-tier Chinese restaurants across Birmingham and the surrounding areas to build a market-leading proposition.

  • Strategic Relationship Management: Act as a city-level expert, using physical visits, calls, and social media to demonstrate Deliveroo’s technology to partners in Mandarin or Cantonese.

  • End-to-End Onboarding: Oversee the restaurant journey from contract signature to "go-live," ensuring the process is seamless, efficient, and rapid.

  • Early-Stage Success: Monitor and drive the performance of newly signed partners during their first eight weeks on the platform to ensure long-term growth.

  • Market Integration: Represent Deliveroo at restaurant and food meet-ups, staying ahead of industry trends and what customers crave most.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Essential:

  • Language Skills: Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential for building authentic partnerships within this category.

  • Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to negotiate complex deals and a strong understanding of the economics of food delivery.

  • Tenacity: A self-starter mindset with the motivation to hit demanding sales targets and take full ownership of your territory.

  • Mobility: A valid driving licence and access to a car, with a willingness to travel across Birmingham and the wider region.

  • Communication: Significant experience in face-to-face pitching and building rapport with diverse business owners.

Nice to Have:

  • Fluency in Cantonese.

  • Existing network within the regional Chinese restaurant or hospitality industry.
