How Flexa helped Puzzel boost EVP visibility and attract 180% more culture-focused candidates

In this case study we look at how Flexa has helped Puzzel attract 180% more culture-focused candidates

The challenge

Puzzel, a leading European provider of AI-native CX solutions, understands that a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is key to attracting and retaining top talent. They wanted to increase the visibility of their culture, mission, and ways of working to ensure they were reaching candidates who aligned with their values. To achieve this, Puzzel joined Flexa.

"I don’t think we were really highlighting the great things about working here, such as our flexibility. Using Flexa has been a catalyst, not just through their platform but also within Puzzel more widely, to better promote those elements. I think that has massively supported the EVP."

How Flexa helped

Flexa enabled Puzzel to showcase their EVP to the right audience through:

  1. Independent verification – Puzzel completed our verification process, giving job seekers confidence in their flexible and people-first work environment.
  2. Employer brand visibility – With a customisable Flexa profile, Puzzel was able to highlight their EVP to job seekers actively looking for a company that aligns with their values.
  3. Increased external visibility – Flexa’s platform, social media, and PR features helped Puzzel connect with candidates who prioritise company culture and mission.

To dive deeper into this impact, we spoke with the Puzzel team about their experience with Flexa and how it has shaped their hiring strategy.

Our challenges were that we already had our values, but beyond that, I don’t think we were really highlighting the other great things about working here, such as our flexibility. These things are just part of who we are as a Nordic company, and they have always been intrinsic to us. However, the organisation did not necessarily see them as differentiators. Using Flexa has been a catalyst, not just through their platform but also within Puzzel more widely, to better promote those elements. I think that has massively supported the EVP.

Obviously, it helps to attract talent, but my role is as much about talent management and retention as it is about acquisition. Ultimately, selling someone the dream only for them to be sorely disappointed upon arrival is not in anyone’s best interest. Creating an environment where people feel happy, comfortable, and want to stay is super important. I think, as with many growing SaaS organisations, we work at a fast pace and push ourselves. We hire very high-calibre employees, and while the work can be mentally demanding, the culture and the colleagues you work alongside are probably the single biggest factors that keep people in the organisation.

I don’t think we particularly were. There was a careers page, and I think there was a nod to our values. When I first joined, we had four company values, which were mentioned on the job adverts, but beyond that, there wasn’t much wider awareness of what it was actually like to work at Puzzel, such as the flexibility, the autonomy, and the trust. I think that has definitely been a big change since I joined and since Flexa came on board.

I wanted a platform that truly reflected what we were aiming to achieve. So many accreditation-style schemes feel expensive and curated to make any company look good, often favouring those with the biggest budgets and resources. Flexa is different. It works with organisations of a range of sizes, and its transparency score and other features mean it shines a light on companies that are genuinely doing the right things; not just the ones with the most money to spend. That authenticity really matters to us.

It has, but more in the sense that it has raised awareness of how we are trying to position ourselves. Speaking about the Flexification award is not the main focus of everything we do, but it is a valuable additional mention. We are doing all this other great work, and the award is another element we keep in mind, especially for leadership and management.

It is also telling that, in our senior leadership/C-suite team, we now have five women out of nine members. Whether that is a direct result of Flexa or not, it is clearly being driven from somewhere, and it very much reflects our top-down commitment to embracing this approach.

Another important point is that we relaunched our website last year with a new Norwegian-based design. This was part of reassessing our roots and the direction we were heading, as we had perhaps started to lose sight of our DNA and what was culturally important to us—our EVP. That is one of our biggest differentiators, not only in terms of employee experience but also in how we position ourselves and work with prospects and customers. We are now leaning into that and re-emphasising the importance of those cultural values, which are very much front of mind.

Absolutely. Being featured on Flexa, and being able to reference it on your own webpage, shows that you are conscious of how you treat your employees and what matters to you as an organisation. The very fact that you are thinking about it and prioritising it says a lot. It is also a financial investment, which means that if a company chooses to make it, it is because they see it as important. For any company that is on the cusp of considering it, I think it is definitely a great step to take and I can wholeheartedly recommend not only the platform, but the entire Flexa team I’ve worked with have been an absolute pleasure too. So, keep up the great work!
