Job Description
Volt, is seeking a commercially focused General Manager to join our team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with experience in the payments industry and strong leadership skills with a bias toward commercial business development.
When Volt launched in 2019, we recognised how open banking has the power to transform how businesses, wherever they happen to be, receive payments from their customers.
So, we set about building an open payments gateway that enables merchants across the globe to receive direct, account-to-account payments – in real time.
Now, on the back of a record-breaking $23.5 million Series A funding round, we’re building an all-star team to achieve our goal of ‘real-time payments everywhere’.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's business strategy in the LATAM market, with a focus on increasing revenue and profitability
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to expand our market presence in the region
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry associations
- Grow, lead and manage a team of professionals across different functions, including sales, marketing, customer support, and operations
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and sales plans to drive customer acquisition and retention
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities
- Work closely with the global management team to align on company objectives and priorities
- Provide regular performance updates and reports to the executive team and board of directors
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in the payments industry, with a focus on the LATAM market
- Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability
- Strong understanding of payments technology, including card processing, mobile payments, and e-commerce
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute on business plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Portuguese
- Experience working in a multinational environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred
