Position: Solutions Architect
Reports to: Executive Head of Technology Governance
Department: Technology Governance
Job Purpose:
To drive the design, integration and governance of end‑to‑end technology solutions across our digital, financial services and network environments.
Key Accountabilities:
- Designs and leads end‑to‑end solution architectures across IT, digital channels, integration and network‑adjacent systems
- Translates business requirements into LLDs, HLDs, NFRs and cross‑domain integration designs
- Ensures compliance with Vodacom Group architecture principles and security, privacy and regulatory standards
- Guides agile delivery teams, ensuring alignment with architectural patterns, APIs and microservices best‑practice
- Supports RFIs/RFPs/RFQs feasibility assessments, technical evaluations and vendor engagements
- Contributes to technology innovation, platform modernization and continuous improvement initiatives to keep Vodacom at the forefront of technological advancements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field
- 3–5+ years’ experience in solution/technical architecture, Application architecture, systems design, integration engineering, or business analysis
- Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, microservices, cloud technologies and digital architecture
- Experience in Telecoms, OSS/BSS, or converged service environments is a strong advantage
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or equivalent are beneficial
