Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Record to Report’s main objective is to correctly reflect the financial position of the organization and to ensure
local financial statements are compliant with accounting standards.
The Senior manager Record to Report (RTR) will take a leadership role to enable this achievement through application of best practice in sustainable continuous improvement, working collaboratively with FinOps functions globally, Finance Business Partners, Financial Planning and Analysis, Billing and IT; and the wider VDC DRC Organization.

Key accountabilities

Play a significant role in implementing the DRC Finance Operations model and lead the Record to Report
element which includes:

1. Revenue Accounting (Contract, Prepaid and Community Services)
2. Inter -and Intra-company Management
3. Consolidations
4. GL Processing & Management Reporting, inherently part of the functions above
5. Financial, Statutory
6. HFM reporting to group
7. Develop and manage a team of skilled individuals who will support in driving the Record to Report mission.
8. Ensure CBM (Core Business Model) processes and governance/compliance (SOX, Internal and External audit, internal
9. KPI’s) frameworks are in place and adhered to.
10. Ensure consistency across RTR activities by partnering and sharing best practices with services within Finops and across
11. the organization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES MANAGEMENTS

This role requires technical, leadership, communicating and managerial skills covering different aspects.

TECHNICAL /FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

I. Revenue Accounting, compliance & Consolidations:

- To ensure that the Accounting and Information provided for decision making is accurate, timely and relevant.
- To ensure the local Ledger and Financial statements are compliant with IFRS and other statutory requirements
- Continued fulfillment and implementation of all management reporting requirements e.g. Enterprise / Consumer
and Revenue Restructure reporting.
- Establish and maintain a strong control environment, ensuring compliance to all relevant Group policies
- Ensure that all Vodacom and Vodafone compliance requirements are met: SOX, Internal Audit, External Audit, Key control questionnaires.
- Manage relationships between Fin Ops and all other internal stakeholders such as: Business partnering, FP&A,
Billing and IT

II. Inter -and Intra-company Management:

- To ensure that the intercompany process is streamlined to allow accurate accounting and effective balancing of
transactions
- Compliance with the billing, settlement -and reconciliation terms of the Group Intercompany Policies
- Manage relationships between RTR and all other internal stakeholders involved in the intercompany process

MANAGERIAL /LEADERSHIP SKILLS

The senior Manager RTR will act as role model in management and leadership:

- Working closely with our Business partners to enable a transition to the new EVO RTR process.

-Moving through the phases of: Stabilisation, effectiveness and efficiency. Deliver world class.

- Actively participate in critical meeting within Finops division and ensure involvement in driving key successful factor to meet stretch deadline for reporting
- Support the team in resolving complex operational control issues
- Ensure that there are no blockages to the provision of the future capability requirements

Develop a superior quality team:

- Ensure that he recruit, develop and retain the right people for Record to Report
- Provide business vision, clear definition of roles, responsibilities, and individual goals and performance objectives.

- Set and measure KPIs for the team
- Motivate, and provide ongoing technical/management training and career counseling to retain the necessary professional staff required to support the RTR environment. Also establish succession plans for team
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize positive impact of individual team member’s talent
- Promote a ‘passion for accuracy’ and ‘continuous improvement’ mentality

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. University degree in finance, economics and/or business administration.
2. Preferably Master’s Degree or MBA
3. Fluency in English and French Language.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

1. Accountancy qualified
2. 5 +years experience in transactional operational environment
3. 5 yrs leadership experience – essential
4. End-to-end knowledge of RTR activities, including in-depth knowledge and understanding of Opex management and
5. Revenue activities
6. SOX, IFRS and local GAAP knowledge
7. Ability to communicate at all levels (Front line to CFO)
8. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and within a Global community
9. ERP operational knowledge
10. Good understanding of HFM functionalities
