What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage multiple IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget;
  • Accountable for the programme level plans and roadmaps across the portfolio scope;
  • Interlock with all delivery teams, functions, other portfolios and stakeholders to ensure plans are agreed and interlocked;
  • Management of demand and capacity to ensure the programme has the available resource to deliver objectives;
  • Proactive management of the portfolio level plans through governance and dependency tracking;
  • Managing sourcing strategy and the sourcing processes, working with Supply Chain Management;
  • Ensuring outcomes from suppliers are matched to the programme delivery plans;
  • Tracking performance (time, cost, quality) of supplier deliverables and taking proactive actions where performance is not on track;
  • Ownership of programme budget and spend;
  • Defining and operating the financial tracking processes;
  • Budget submission and governance within Vodafone finance governance bodies;
  • Tracking of value KPIs and ROI for the portfolio;
  • Managing governance forums at programme and executive steerco level to communicate progress and make key decisions across stakeholder groups including the IT C-suite;
  • Establishing and managing forums to control scope and business case changes;
  • Communicating the purpose, outcomes, plan and progress to the entire organisation with tailored communications for different groups.

Who you are

  • Relevant university degree (M.Sc., B.Sc.);
  • Qualifications in relevant delivery methodologies e.g. SAFe, PRINCE2;
  • Experience leading a large portfolio of technology work, and delivering transformational change initiatives in a multi-vendor environment;
  • Highly organised and motivated to manage large complex plans across multiple teams;
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator to large audiences (100s of people) and C-suite members;
  • Very strong stakeholder management skills (including influencing and mediation), with technical and non-technical teams up to head of department level;
  • Highly skilled at managing finance and KPIs on multi-million pound technology projects with a high attention to detail on financial metrics;
  • IT or telecoms BSS knowledge is highly desirable;
  • Fluency in English.
