What you’ll do

Role Description


As IoT Solution Architect, you will be in charge of consulting enterprise customers in the design of connectivity solutions for many different applications and industries. You will bring in your technical expertise, understanding of the business environment the customer and Vodafone operate in, and propose solutions based on Vodafone’s managed connectivity and IoT solution portfolio. You will drive the solution from a pre-sales consultative stage through implementation and deployment. This is a customer-facing role and you will be required to travel to customer sites regularly.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with regional Business Development and Key Account Management in pre-sale activities and qualification of sales leads
• Act as a “technical consultant” to Vodafone’s customers. Advise, propose and design solutions in line with customer needs, requirements and expectations.
• Assess technical solution complexity and deliverability within Vodafone’s IoT platforms as well as network capability both at a Global and regional level
• Lead presentation of IoT solution designs and workshops based on Vodafone’s managed connectivity and IoT solution catalogue, clearly highlighting differentiators of Vodafone against competitors from a product and technical perspective
• Support the sales process from pre-sales and qualification stages, through RFP / bid and contract sign-up, all the way to implementation, deployment and successful acceptance testing and sign-off
• Produce and maintain technical documentation conversant with the requirements of the customer and the capability of the business, and achieve customer technical solution approval
• Able to produce clear and succinct RFI / RFP answers for winning bid responses
• Support customers during deployments, testing, in-life during new feature deployments, and manage technical change requests
• Liaise with internal delivery teams and drive solution design and testing through to completion
• Meet the customer when and where needed – 25% travel within France and Europe

Who you are

Technical / Professional Expertise
Essential
• Educated to BSc or MSc or an IT/EE (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of cellular 3GPP / LPWAN / satellite radio technology, with an understanding of radio coverage aspects for IoT applications
• Detailed knowledge of data communication, network, software application and IT technologies.
• Consistent track record in technical / pre-sales capacity
• Customer relationship management skills with ability to interact comfortably at Director level
• Strong communication and decision making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests
• Preferred international experience with well developed cultural awareness
• Hands on-knowledge of the broader IoT market.
• Experience in complex change management in a technological context
• Team player, strong influence and relationship management skills
• Used to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible to adapt
• Fluent in French and English


Desired
• Ideally certified CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
• Experience in working within a multinational mobile network operator advantageous
• Some knowledge of billing systems for Telecoms
• Knowledge of the broader IoT market, and at least one of the following markets a plus: utilities, automotive, finance and payments systems, manufacturing, oil and gas, or consumer electronics
• Knowledge of IT security
• Knowledge of electronic device design, testing and manufacturing and well as global supply chain
• Multi-lingual skills advantageous
• A self-starter with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy
