About this Role

We are seeking an IAM Operations Specialist to support the maintenance, configuration, and operational continuity of user management tools serving internal and external Vodafone Germany customers. The individual will contribute to lifecycle processes, script optimisation, provisioning activities, issue resolution, and compliance tasks while collaborating closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.

What you will do

• Support lifecycle processes including onboarding and offboarding applications and tools under the guidance of Engineers.
• Assist in modifying and adapting software solutions to enhance performance and usability.
• Conduct basic functional testing and validations of systems and tools, escalating anomalies as needed.
• Execute provisioning and deprovisioning of user access rights following documented procedures.
• Collaborate in updating technical and functional specifications and support their implementation.
• Contribute to analysis and resolution of standard and recurring technical incidents.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for hardware and software platforms, escalating complex cases.
• Contribute to platform documentation, user guides, and internal procedures.
• Ensure adherence to compliance requirements including SOX, internal controls, and audit documentation.
• Offer flexible support beyond standard business hours when necessary for service continuity.
• Operate in line with operational agreements and KPIs including uptime, incident response, and error rate.
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting release weekends, critical deployments, and operational needs.

Who you are

• University education in engineering or a technical field such as automation, electronics, communications, or IT.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
• Good understanding of account provisioning, access rights, and IT security principles.
• Exposure to scripting (Python, Bash) and database queries (PL/SQL).
• Familiarity with Java and PL/SQL is advantageous.
• Practical experience with Windows and Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools.
• Understanding of networking concepts including IP, DNS, and TCP/UDP.
• Experience working in collaborative and multinational team environments.
• Ability to produce accurate documentation and reporting.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Exposure to virtualisation platforms such as VMware.
• Knowledge of database systems including Microsoft SQL and Oracle.
• Introductory certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation, Linux LPIC-1, MTA, SQL Fundamentals) are a plus.
• Understanding of SSL certificates and their role in secure communication.
• Awareness of IT service management practices across incident, change, and request handling.
