Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What you’ll do

We are hiring for a Field Service Manager where you will be leading, developing and coaching a large team of dispersed Field Engineers. You will work with your Field Specialist to develop developmental training plans whilst instilling a culture of Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement to ensure the team is operating to its best potential.

  • The Field Engineering team operates 24/7/365 and it is the Team Manager’s responsibility to ensure the optimal shift pattern and rota is in place to provide certainty of cover for customers whilst minimising overtime spend.
  • To ensure that all Company policies and standards are understood by the team and adhered to
  • Will display excellent communication skills acting as ambassador to the Field organisation with both internal and external parties as well as ensuring the engineering team is fully updated with relevant business news and strategy
  • Will take ownership of issues flagged up by the team and drive appropriate improvement plans with relevant internal / external parties to resolve.
  • To support in the execution of the on-going operational strategy, operating model and business process reviews needed to continuously improve the efficiency and performance of the Field team.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve working practices to improve operational efficiency, utilisation and customer experience
  • To effectively support the Engineering Dispatch teams with Operational escalations relating to Field resource constraints or complaints
  • To ensure that all company policies and standards are understood by the team and adhered to
  • To encourage all members of the team to live by the Vodafone Spirit Beat behaviours and instil a culture of Reward and Recognition using the Vodafone House Red framework
  • To manage cost and headcount to targets as set by the Senior Manager, Field, demonstrating efficiency achievements
  • To review Touch Point Net Promotor (TNPS) results for the team celebrating success and closing the loop on any detractors
  • To pro-actively monitor and ensure all certifications and accreditations in the team are always maintained and in-date.




Who you are

  • Proven leadership and motivational skills in an Field Engineering/Delivery environment
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging, developing and motivating Technical team members
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results under tight timescales
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to drive change and innovation
  • Prior experience of delivering improvement initiatives with successful results



Please note, Candidates must hold SC Clearance or be eligible for SC Clearance. To become eligible for SC Clearance candidates must be able to demonstrate residency in the UK for the past 5 years.
