Role Purpose/Business Unit:

This role will act as the finance business partner to support the International Business Chief Finance Officer to:

  • Review and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships across the Vodacom International Portfolio which will include strategy enablement, financial modelling and decision support, financial governance, supporting project execution, and overall project leadership.
  • Be the lead finance support for Group Commercial, IT, regulatory teams on IB portfolio related projects. This would relate to key projects, governance, shareholder matters, and overall performance management.

This role will act as the key focal point in synthesising the projects and entity governance from an IB leadership perspective, supporting the IB COO and CFO with decision support, interface with Group teams coordinating with the Business development / M&A / group finance functions, and interfacing with the Opco leadership teams in driving execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the primary finance partner to Group Commercial on International Business initiatives, providing financial insight, deal support, and governance input across commercial strategies, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
  • Guide, coach, and coordinate International Market Finance Business Partners, ensuring consistent application of group commercial frameworks, financial standards, and decision-support practices across markets.
  • Lead the financial evaluation, structuring, and performance tracking of international commercial initiatives, including partnerships, wholesale agreements, and new revenue models, ensuring alignment with Group value creation objectives.
  • Provide commercial and financial challenge to international markets, supporting pricing, margin management, cost optimisation, and capital allocation decisions in collaboration with Group Commercial and Technology teams.
  • Drive standardisation, best-practice sharing, and capability uplift across international finance teams, strengthening commercial acumen and improving the quality and consistency of business cases and decision support.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Bachelor of Commerce, CA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 10 years of demonstrable financial management experience, preferably in telecoms, ICT, or multinational environments.
  • Minimum 5 years in management or supervisory roles, ideally with exposure to international markets or partnership models.
  • Experience with financial governance, benefit realization, and value creation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Vodacom/Vodafone Group processes and international business operations is an advantage.
  • At least 5 year management/supervisory experience


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Strong commercial finance leadership experience within a group or multi-market environment, with a proven ability to support central commercial functions and influence market-level outcomes.
  • Advanced financial modelling, deal evaluation, and commercial structuring skills, with the ability to translate group strategy into clear, actionable guidance for market finance teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in coaching and developing finance business partners, driving consistency, confidence, and commercial mindset across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in engaging Group Commercial, Technology, and International Market leadership on complex, cross-border initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution discipline, with experience operating in matrixed organisations and balancing group priorities with local market realities.
