What you’ll do

  • Be responsible for the Enterprise Architecture of billing domain (consisting of several applications): leading implementation, prioritising features together with business and demand management teams and driving innovation.
  • Lead and drive the IoT architecture evolution, specifically Digital IoT BSS domain architecture with focus areas Billing, Charging and Revenue Management ).

Strategic Design and Architecture

  • Develop high-level enterprise architecture interim and target state blueprints that covers IoT BSS domain specifically Billing and Revenue Management.

Digital Transformation:

  • Lead initiatives for modernizing and rationalisation of legacy billing systems, migrating to the cloud, and improving the customer experience.

Architecture Road mapping

  • Define and develop multi-year IoT billing domain roadmap evolving from current to target architecture.

Architecture Governance

  • Champion architectural governance and ensure solutions align with Vodafone Group and IoT principles, strategy and tmf standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work with product and sales executives, platform, and development teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.

Technical leadership

    • Impact assessment of new product feature development and customer requirements and produce high level options pack with estimated costs and delivery timelines.
    • Manage and deliver proof of Concepts demonstrating state of the art technology capabilities in BSS/OSS platform.
    • Evaluate and choose the right solution for new projects, which may involve comparing off-the-shelf solutions with custom builds.
    • Technology vendor recommendations and build vs buy decisions for target capabilities.

Who you are

  • Experience in designing complex, distributed, secure and scalable end to end architecture solutions within complex organisations, preferably in the B2B market.
  • Must have prior experience of architecting and leading in telco BSS/OSS specifically Billing and Charging) transformation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture best practices and design patterns, including:
    • Strong experience in designing and modelling Complex Billing Models, Customer Hierarchies , Product Models.
    • Ability to design conceptual and logical data models.
    • Experience of database architectures, data modelling, SQL and NoSQL approaches.
    • Sound experience working with a broad range of integration architectural patterns (e.g. SOA and microservices, etc) and especially with Apigee.
    • Sound understanding of modern web architecture and Serverless architecture
    • Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes)
    • In depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure and OpenStack)
    • Ability to conduct in-depth design reviews of large systems
    • Understanding of DevOps culture, practices and tools
    • Experience of production systems and the issues that arise, e.g. functional, performance, security
  • Proven experience of conducting technical workshops, presenting technical solutions, preparing architecture guidelines and technical strategy documents.
  • Experience of producing high quality UML based architecture artefacts.
  • Familiar with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, TM Forum, etc) and capable of suggesting new tools/process.
  • Good understanding of Telco Core Network Access technologies 3g,4g/5g.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
