About this Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong finance data professional to act as a trusted point of contact for financial reporting data within the Finance Transformation Centre of Excellence. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial data is accurate, reliable, well-governed, and fit for purpose to support management reporting and advanced analytics. The individual will work closely with finance stakeholders and data owners, providing expertise on data sources, lineage, quality, and controls, while gaining broad exposure to the VSOL business.

What you will do

Act as the primary contact within the Centre of Excellence for financial data owners, developing a deep understanding of data sources, capture methods, storage, transformations, and associated risks.
Advise stakeholders on appropriate data sources to support standard and ad-hoc financial reporting, including the development of new reporting solutions.
Identify, gather, validate, and test financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and suitability for reporting and analytics.
Analyse data issues to identify root causes and provide clear, contextual explanations for reporting outcomes.
Map, maintain, and document end-to-end data lineage from source systems through to final reports, ensuring transparency and auditability.
Collaborate with data owners and system teams to resolve data quality issues and implement sustainable remediation plans.
Support and maintain financial reporting governance, controls, processes, and documentation in line with established frameworks.
Ensure all activities operate within agreed governance standards to maintain strong internal controls and trustworthy management reporting.

Who you are

A finance professional with strong financial and business acumen and a solid understanding of financial data, drivers, and key performance metrics.
Highly numerate, with advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
Experienced in working with large datasets and advanced Excel; comfortable summarising complex data flows in a clear and structured way.
Knowledgeable in data quality management, data lineage, and database best practices.
Confident communicator, able to engage and collaborate effectively across complex organisational structures.
Naturally curious, proactive, and comfortable constructively challenging assumptions to improve outcomes.
Professionally qualified or close to qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA), or able to demonstrate equivalent depth of experience in financial analysis.
Familiarity with SAP, Anaplan, SQL, and Power BI is advantageous.
