About this Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong expertise in GCP, BigQuery, SQL and data warehousing concepts to support enterprise‑scale analytics solutions within VOIS Technology (TSSW). This role blends hands‑on technical delivery with cloud‑native engineering practices, enabling the development, optimisation and support of data platforms that process large and complex datasets. The role is part of the Data & Analytics Shared Services function and contributes to critical global initiatives such as the Nucleus Portugal programme.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop and debug complex SQL and PL/SQL queries in GCP BigQuery.
  • Build and maintain cloud‑based data infrastructure using Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Engine and Cloud Run.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers and analytics teams to process and optimise large‑scale datasets.
  • Ensure best practices for performance, security, scalability and reliability of cloud‑native data applications.
  • Write unit tests and technical documentation to ensure long‑term maintainability and code quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production cloud environments with a proactive and structured approach.
  • Apply data warehousing principles and data processing frameworks to support analytical and reporting use cases.

Who you are

  • 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or cloud data platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands‑on experience using GCP BigQuery.
  • Practical experience with GCP components such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, App Engine or Cloud Run.
  • Working knowledge of Python and cloud‑native development concepts.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and debugging skills.
  • Graduate or post‑graduate qualification in a technical discipline, preferably Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in global, distributed teams and adapt to a changing environment.
