(Please note that this position is not a people management role, but rather a medior/senior-level role within the compliance function)

Your role in a nutshell:

The Compliance Analyst Financial Crime (Trade Compliance & Sanctions) will assist in providing technical advisory on sanctions and trade controls compliance to the Group.

The role holder will be responsible for reviewing export notiifcations, applying for export liccenses, incident management and assisting with proving advice on regulatory developments and applicability to Vodafone. The role will be a key contributor to Vodafone’s sanctions and trade controls compliance risk mitigation strategies and programmes.

Vodafone is a fast paced environment and therefore this role requires the ability to manage multiple issues and projects simultaneously. The role also requires knowledge of sanctions issues and good technical knowledge of trade controls compliance. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to clearly communicate complex matters to stakeholders is key.

What will you do in your role:

  • Provide expert technical advisory for markets, operations and Vodafone Group stakeholders on sanctions and particularly trade controls compliance matters ensuring strategic alignment and risk mitigation
  • Forge and sustain influential relationships across the Group to proactively manage sanctions and trade controls compliance risks in business operations.
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning of global sanctions and trade control compliance obligations interpretating impact and shaping Vodafone Groups strategic compliance response.
  • Oversee and validate exports for adherence to global trade regulations, including the preparation of export license applications and manage regulatory disclosures.
  • Deliver end-to-end trade controls issue management for Vodafone Group projects, advising on export control related matters and managing third-party compliance partners.
  • Drive the development of commercially viable and compliant solutions, including leading sanctions and trade controls assessments for new products through Vodafone’s Trust by Design framework.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Minimum 4 years previous experience in sanctions and specifically trade controls compliance.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK, EU and US export controls.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret regulatory and technical information.
  • Experience in implementing financial crime compliance programmes and policies, and experience in regulatory reporting.
  • Experience of working with a complex product and jurisdiction portfolio which materially impacted the sanctions and trade controls landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working across markets with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional language skills an advantage
