About this Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Packet Core professional to design, operate, and support Packet Core systems across multiple business domains. This role plays a key part in translating business and customer requirements into robust technical solutions, leading virtual technology teams through design and implementation, and ensuring service quality throughout delivery and transition to operations. A strong focus on KPI improvement, service reliability, and root‑cause analysis is essential.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the technical assessment and design of Packet Core solutions in line with product catalogues, architectural standards, and strategic objectives.
  • Capture and analyse customer and business requirements, assessing technical feasibility and operational impact.
  • Coordinate and guide virtual, cross‑functional technology teams during solution design and implementation phases.
  • Act as the primary technical representative for projects, engaging with business stakeholders, customers, and technology leadership.
  • Support operational teams post‑deployment, contributing to service stability, KPI improvement, and root‑cause investigations for degraded performance.

Who you are

  • An experienced Packet Core specialist with extensive hands‑on exposure (typically 7+ years) within a telecoms environment.
  • Confident in PS data network call flows and the operation of Packet Core services.
  • Skilled in deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Packet Core solutions across complex environments.
  • Technically curious, with the ability to develop practical solutions that support broader business strategies.
  • Educated to degree level in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in Packet Core protocols, call flows, and products, with operational experience on platforms such as Huawei PGW or similar.
  • Comfortable applying structured project management methodologies to deliver outcomes successfully.

Not a perfect fit?

What's in it for you

  • Exposure to complex, large‑scale Packet Core environments supporting enterprise and M2M platforms.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with global Vodafone Group entities and local markets across Europe.
  • The chance to influence service quality, customer experience, and network evolution at scale.
  • A role that balances strategic design work with hands‑on technical leadership.

What skills you will learn

  • Advanced solution design and assurance across multi‑market Packet Core architectures.
  • Stakeholder engagement and technical leadership in virtual, cross‑border teams.
  • KPI‑driven service improvement and structured root‑cause analysis techniques.
  • Broader insight into M2M platforms and enterprise network services within Vodafone Group.
