
Charging Engineer Specialist
Job Description
Role Purpose
Within Italy Services Operation team the candidate will be responsible of 2nd level support of online charging solution.
Within the team, the role is responsible of reactive and preventive maintenance and support of engineering and delivery teams in deploying new technologies and services ensuring that the implementation respects resiliency and monitoring standards. The role defines guidelines and performs trouble-shooting activities as well as maintenance routines to avoid outages and guarantee service continuity with incidental service restoration. Out of hours support if necessary being part of a 24 x7 standby rota.
In collaboration with 1st Line Operations teams, work out procedures related to the analysis of alarms in order to detect and eliminate faults. Perform data configuration, software rollout and support integration activities with planning and delivery functions. The Specialist manages the vendor for technical support services and interacts with Engineering and other Operation teams to provide Network stability to meet and exceed the expected performance KPIs.

What you’ll do
- In case of incident, assure trouble shooting analysis and all the repair actions, including vendor support escalation, in order to achieve service and performance restoration.
- Perform proactive maintenance activities to prevent incidents and constantly optimize the network, e.g. daily walkthroughs and health checks
- Solve service-related Customer complaints within SLA. Tracing and debugging on various service platform
- components. Complex traffic and E2E service trend and protocol analysis
- Knowledge sharing in order to increase technical skills of other teams involved in deployment and operations activities in the network. Introduce and manage cutting edge technologies including vendor and on the job training
- Assure planned work activities and upgrade of Services platform components with zero incident. Onboarding and implementation of Service requests ensuring quality of service and avoiding regression on functionalities
Who you are
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- University degree: faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology
- Min. 2 years of experience in Telecommunication on similar position.
- Hands on experience with Telco Service components
- Scripting knowledge (Linux, Python, Ansible) desirable
- Database management knowledge (Arrowspike) desirable.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Detailed understanding of main network and Telco protocols like SS7 (MAP, Camel), diameter, LDAP, SOAP.
- Telco services analysis and troubleshooting in problem and change management. Analyse and interpret traces (e.g Wireshark traces, network element traces, logs).
- Good knowledge of mobile network architectures 2G/4G/5G, VoLTE
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
Team working oriented and ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries with problem solving skills and
- attitude to manage emergency situations to deliver results and improve performance
- Good communication skills, English (spoken and written), Italian (spoken and written).

What's in it for you
The starting salary will be at least €35.500 € + PDR.
This figure represents the starting point only, and the final offer will be dependent on your individual skills, experience and potential assessed during the process, and the benchmarking information for the position’s reward level.
