About this Role

We are seeking a Senior L2 Network Engineer to manage and optimise Vodafone’s data centre network infrastructure, including Cisco ACI fabrics and Nexus 5K/7K/9K switches. This role involves leading Layer 2 implementations, IP allocations (IPv4/IPv6), and lifecycle management activities such as device decommissioning. The individual will ensure high availability and performance across the network. Additionally, the role includes supporting cloud initiatives with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

  • A professional with 3+ years of experience in network engineering.
  • Holds a BE or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Open-minded and solution-oriented, with clear communication skills.

What you will do

Manage and troubleshoot Layer 2 network infrastructure across Cisco ACI and Nexus platforms.Execute IP address planning and allocation for IPv4 and IPv6 across multiple domains and subnets.Lead lifecycle management activities, including device decommissioning.Support cloud deployments and automation using Terraform and Microsoft Azure.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability and security.

What skills you need

Technical Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and Nexus 5K/7K/9K switches.
  • Knowledge of VXLAN/EVPN and multi-site ACI platform integration.
  • Basic understanding of Terraform (modules, variables, state management).
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Ability to work with Git for version control.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows basics for cloud VM management.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

What skills you will learn

  • Advanced cloud automation and deployment using Terraform.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Basic scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Cloud cost management and resource optimisation strategies.
