The central Strategy team plays a critical role identifying and developing new ways to create value for VMO2, by defining and ensuring execution of winning strategies across each aspect of the business. The team is focused on longer term direction setting and working on high value, cross-functional strategic issues on behalf of the business. Who we are

The must haves

  • An important role in the strategy setting process within VMO2. This role involves working with senior management to help design & communicate the direction of VMO2
  • Identify strategic priorities and opportunities within the business and wider TMT industry and help define the strategic relevance of these, delivering thorough and considered recommendations to senior management to best support VMO2’s strategic goals.
  • Play a role in defining the strategic context of these opportunities through innovative thinking, in-depth analysis and development of robust recommendations that promote and protect VMO2’s success, in both the near and long-term (3-5 years)
  • Lead cross-functional strategy projects, ensuring full-alignment with VMO2’s strategic goals and ambitions
  • Become a trusted advisor to key WLT & SLT members, on complex and critical issues, being able to challenge existing assumptions
  • Identify appropriate ways for VMO2 to achieve its strategic goals, e.g. alliances, M&A, Group and Digital

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Some enterprise-wide strategy development experience relevant to tier 1 global Telco operation
  • Track record of developing viable solutions to highly complex business challengesEffective & credible communicator, with influence at all levels of business, especially at SLT/WLT levelStrong
  • Written communication and structured story-telling ability
  • High impact self-starting individual, resourceful and solution-driven, able to manage and successfully deliver multiple projects in parallel
  • Strong analytical skillset and knowledge of business modelling, forecasting, scenario building and other modelling techniques
  • Excellent team-working and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships across the business and broader group
  • Knowledge of the telecoms market and digital services and of the potential opportunities/threats for the industry
