Job Description
The DevOps team within Data Platforms are one of the central pillars for the entire department that helps manage areas like (but not limited to): maximising productivity in engineering teams using a decentralised approach, enabling teams with self-service and IaC blueprints, processes for IaC deployment, security, and general best practices in GCP.
We've won the Google Cloud DevOps award 2 times and are feeling hopeful for a repeat in 2023. In our 3rd year, our team are focusing on the transformative stage. Key initiatives include supporting projects, design, adoption of new GCP services and ways of working. We're a data driven department and our technology stack and focus is on GCP services (AWS engineer would have similar concepts) but with a serverless focus first.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Technical understanding of architecture design using Cloud services.
- Can demonstrate best practices in the cloud and ways of working. Not limited to networking, security and IAM.
- Have cloud experience is required preferably in GCP. (AWS also accepted)
- Have strong Terraform skills.
- Have built and owned CI/CD pipelines.
- Have good knowledge of networking such as VPC, subnets, routing and firewalls (particularly network concepts in the cloud.)
The other stuff we are looking for
We'd also love you to bring;
- Experience with owning and being responsible for technically leading a project from start to end.
- Experience supporting a larger function (team >10 engineers).
- Experience in decentralising DevOps processes.
- Experience with maintaining multiple environments in many different CI/CD pipelines.
