Job Description

The Accounting, Reporting & Control team are responsible for the integrity of the reported financial results of Virgin Media O2. We provide clarity, insight and advice to a varied list of internal stakeholders and external shareholders.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Newly qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience, with a strong accounting background
  • Experience of simultaneously managing interconnected processes in a fast-paced finance function.
  • Articulate with strong communication skills and the ability to liaise, negotiate with, and influence a wide range of internal stakeholders across all levels and business areas.
  • Previous experience managing multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of IFRS, preferably US GAAP knowledge.

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Partner closely with the accounting teams, investor relations, treasury, legal and shareholders to deliver timely, complete and accurate external reporting results – including issuance of consolidated quarterly results under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Significant relationship with the external auditors, providing clear explanations and will be largely responsible for the delivery of an efficient audit process
  • Strong relationships within the wider finance team, ensuring they are well informed of accounting impacts and process and provide guidance on appropriate accounting treatment accounting team transactions.
  • Preparation of sections of Virgin Media O2's externally reported results.
  • Preparation of the quarterly and annual JV bond reports for multiple entities within the JV, including consolidated groups, as well as oversight of the preparation by the JV’s shared service centre.
