
Field Service Engineer - Carlisle

About the role
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll help keep customers connected by installing, maintaining and repairing broadband, TV and phone services in their homes. This is hands-on, practical work where your technical skills and customer approach go hand in hand. You’ll receive a starting salary of £29,000, with the potential to earn up to £36,200 through overtime and commission.
For this position, you must live in one of the following postcodes:
CA1, CA2, CA3, CA6, CA7, Ca8, DG1, DG2, DG6, DG11, DG12, DG14, DG16
Day to day, you’ll:
- Visit customers’ homes to install and repair broadband, TV and phone services
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults calmly and accurately
- Explain solutions clearly so customers feel informed and reassured
- Take ownership of jobs from start to finish
- Work safely at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Balance technical problem-solving with excellent customer care
You’ll be supported from day one. You’ll complete structured training before heading out into the field, with ongoing coaching and access to support whenever you need it.

Our ways of working
This is a field-based role where you’ll work independently but as part of a wider team. You’ll need to live within one of the specified postcode areas, and your working patterns and expectations will be discussed as part of the recruitment process.
After training, you’ll work 37.5 hours across just 4 days (Monday to Saturday), with shifts ranging between 7.5 and 10 hours.

Previous experience in a technical, engineering or installation role is beneficial, but not essential. What matters most is mindset. If you’re curious, practical, customer-focused and motivated to learn technical skills with structured training and support, this role offers a strong foundation for a long-term career.
