Join Our Brand-New Practice

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where you can make a real impact from day one?

Our purpose-built Whetstone practice opened in July 2025, and we're looking for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped practice where collaboration, clinical excellence, and colleague wellbeing are genuinely valued.

Whether you enjoy a varied caseload, have a particular clinical interest, or are looking to work towards a certificate, we'll support you every step of the way.

Why Join Us?

Our Practice Owner, Shweta Nakrani, graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and has clinical interests in cat-friendly practice, soft tissue surgery, and brachycephalic airway syndrome.

Her vision is simple:

"To build a supportive, positive practice where people enjoy coming to work and are encouraged to grow professionally."

You'll be joining a friendly team in a purpose-built surgery featuring:

  • Digital X-ray
  • Dedicated operating theatre
  • Separate cat, dog and isolation wards
  • Spacious colleague facilities
  • A varied and rewarding caseload
  • Support for CPD and certificate study

The Role

  • Part-time - 24 hours per week
  • Consult and surgical duties (consult-only applicants will also be considered)
  • Opportunity to develop your own clinical interests
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Has at least two years' clinical experience
  • Is confident with consultations and routine surgery
  • Has excellent communication and client care skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a team while also being comfortable working independently
  • Is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
  • Has an interest in developing a clinical specialism (ultrasound/scanning experience is an advantage but not essential)

What We Offer

Alongside a competitive salary of up to £60,000 FTE (depending on experience), you'll receive:

  • Generous CPD allowance plus certificate funding
  • 5.6 weeks' holiday, increasing to 6.6 weeks with service
  • Birthday leave
  • Private health insurance
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid RCVS, BVA and VDS memberships
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Wellbeing and colleague assistance programmes
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • 20% colleague discount at Vets for Pets, Pets at Home and Groom Room

Location

Located in the London Borough of Barnet, Whetstone offers the perfect blend of suburban living and city convenience, with excellent transport links into Central London and easy access to the M25 and A1.
