Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon – supportive, welcoming team. Salary up to £70,000 DOE

We are looking for an experienced vet to join our team as a fifth vet to replace a colleague returning to the USA, so if you are looking to join a small, friendly practice with a great reputation in the local area, we have the role for you here at Wycombe Marsh Vets for Pets.

About us

You will be joining a team of 4 vets including practice owner Julia who qualified in 1991 from RVC, and has been exclusively a small animal vet for many years. You’ll also be working alongside a certificate holder in feline medicine, another vet anticipating a certificate in dentistry and our new graduate, as well as a supportive team of 5 nurses, 1 student nurse, 3 VCA’s, 5 receptionists and practice manager.

You will have access to excellent facilities including an operating theatre, X-ray & dental x-ray, ultrasound, as well as the support of an established and welcoming team, keen to nurture your skills and help you develop and grow with the business.

The practice operates an open-door policy and the team pride themselves on being a close team who place a strong emphasis on team empathy.

The role

This role will be 35 – 40 hours per week (negotiable). Our vet team work varying patterns contributing to a 7-day schedule and this schedule can be agreed on to be mutually advantageous for both parties. The role will include weekend work on a 1 in 4 rota and no OOH.

Our days are structured well with consults given 20 minutes as standard, and there’s always time to catch up on admin throughout the day, time for a lunch break and regular clinical meetings too.

In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a colleague with existing GP experience in a UK practice, a team player with great communication skills and someone who shares our passion for providing the highest level of veterinary care.

The benefits

  • Competitive salary dependent on your experience – up to £70k

  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Free parking
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, etc)
  • Birthday day off
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards including 20% off at Vets4Pets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room
