Veterinary Surgeon – Selby Vets for Pets

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + £5,000 welcome bonus
Hours: 40 hours a week | 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–4pm)
Location: Selby, YO8 8LY

Are you looking for a veterinary role that combines exciting clinical opportunities, supportive colleagues, and a true work–life balance? Selby Vets for Pets has the perfect opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and inclusive team!

About the Role

You’ll be joining a warm, easy-going but hard-working team of experienced vets, including a Clinical Lead with 26 years’ experience. We welcome special interests, whether it’s Ophthalmology, Behaviour, soft tissue surgery, or other areas of passion and actively encourage CPD, with certification fully funded.

As part of the team, you’ll:

  • Take responsibility for routine medical and surgical cases, with support from our skilled nursing and clinical teams
  • Work alongside experienced RVNs, Clinical Care Advisors, and our Head Nurse and Practice Manager, who are on-site daily
  • Thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment with two mental health first aiders on site and an open-door policy for confidential conversations

We’re based on a busy retail park inside a Pets at Home store, just outside Selby town centre. Free parking, excellent transport links, and easy access to Leeds, York, and the East Coast make commuting simple.
