Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon – Uxbridge Vets for Pets
Up to £75,000 DOE | No OOH | Brand-New Purpose-Built Practice | Full-Time

Ever dreamed of joining a brand-new, shiny practice and helping shape it from day one?
Want to work somewhere that balances career growth with a vibrant local lifestyle?

Welcome to Uxbridge Vets for Pets opening August 2026, where your ideas, skills, and enthusiasm will help build something truly special.

Why This Role is Exciting:

This is your chance to be part of something from the ground up. You won’t just be filling a role, you’ll be helping design workflows, set clinical standards, and influence the culture of the practice.
You’ll get:

  • Full-time hours (around 40 per week, Monday–Friday 9am–7pm)
  • Saturday work on a fair 1 in 2 rota (9am–5pm)
  • No out-of-hours shifts
  • Flexibility to discuss part-time options

We want you to feel supported, challenged, and inspired all while having the time to enjoy life outside work.

The Practice:

Our purpose-built, modern clinic has been designed with both clinical excellence and colleague wellbeing in mind:

  • Spacious, light-filled consult rooms
  • Separate dog & cat wards
  • Dedicated theatre & prep area
  • Isolation room
  • Digital X-ray & dental X-ray
  • Ultrasound & multi-parameter monitoring
  • In-house lab (haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis)
  • Microscope

Everything we’ve included is aimed at helping you provide the best care, with workflows that make your day easier and a workspace you’ll love.

Meet Oscar – Our Practice Owner:

"I’ve worked all over the UK, from Wales to Scotland, and finally settled in London. After nearly 10 years in practice, I wanted to create a space that focuses on professional growth, teamwork, and fun. I’m excited to build a welcoming, supportive culture at Uxbridge and I can’t wait to meet you!"

Oscar’s vision? A practice that feels like home for pets, clients, and colleagues alike where your ideas really matter.

Life in Uxbridge:

Uxbridge is lively, well-connected, and packed with green spaces:

  • Historic town centre with cafés, restaurants, and shopping at The Pavilions & Intu
  • Cowley Recreation Ground & Colne Valley Regional Park for dog walks, cycling, and canal strolls
  • Just 15 minutes’ walk to West Drayton station with easy connections across West London and Central London
  • Minutes from everyday conveniences including Costa, McDonald’s, PureGym, and local shops

City life meets countryside charm, perfect for exploring, relaxing, or socialising after work.

About You:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon who:

  • Is RCVS-registered with 2+ years’ experience in small animal practice
  • Confident with routine medical and surgical procedures
  • Communicates well with clients and colleagues
  • Enjoys working as part of a team but is comfortable with occasional sole charge
  • Is interested in developing a clinical interest area with certificates fully supported

If you love variety, growth, and making a real impact, you’ll thrive here.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • Generous CPD allowance with support for certificates
  • 5.6 weeks’ holiday (increasing with service)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Access to colleague wellbeing programmes and pastoral care
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • 20% discount at Vets for Pets, Pets at Home & The Groom Room
  • Exclusive Pets at Home Group rewards

Why Join Uxbridge Vets for Pets?

Be part of a brand-new practice with:

  • Modern facilities
  • Supportive leadership
  • Clinical freedom
  • A culture built around teamwork and fun

Whether you’re aiming to develop your clinical skills, work towards a certificate, or simply want to enjoy a rewarding, flexible role in a vibrant location, this is your chance to make a real impact from the very beginning.
