Job Description

Full or Part Time Hours | National Minimum Wage

We're opening a brand-new Vets for Pets practice in Cardiff Ty Glas and are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Receptionist to join our team from the very beginning.

As the first face our clients see and the friendly voice on the phone, you'll play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for both our clients and their pets. If you enjoy helping people, love working in a busy environment and thrive as part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.

About Us

Our new practice is led by experienced veterinary professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding patient care while creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

We're building a friendly, supportive team where everyone's contribution matters, ideas are welcomed, and colleagues are encouraged to learn and develop.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for making every client feel welcome while helping the practice run smoothly.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming clients and their pets with a warm, professional approach.
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries.
  • Booking appointments and managing the practice diary.
  • Taking payments and handling client accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate records using our practice management system.
  • Supporting the veterinary and nursing team with administration.
  • Keeping the reception area organised, tidy and inviting.

Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time hours, we'd be happy to discuss a working pattern that works for you.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Loves providing outstanding customer service.
  • Enjoys working with people and animals.
  • Is organised and able to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Is confident using computers.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Has previous reception or customer service experience (preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided).

Why Join Us?

Joining our new practice means becoming part of something exciting from day one.

You'll enjoy:

  • National Minimum Wage.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Holiday entitlement.
  • Staff discount.
  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the practice.
  • A welcoming, supportive team that values kindness, collaboration and great customer care.

Our Location

Our purpose-built practice is located in Llanishen, Cardiff, with excellent transport links, free on-site parking and a great selection of nearby shops and cafés, including Marks & Spencer, Boots and Homesense.

Just 10–15 minutes from Cardiff city centre and with easy access to the M4, it's an ideal location whether you're travelling from Cardiff or the surrounding areas.

Ready to Join Us?

If you're passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and want to be part of an exciting new practice from the very beginning, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us create a practice where clients feel welcome, pets receive outstanding care and colleagues love coming to work.

Location: CF14 5ZB

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
