Job Description

We’re excited to be opening a brand-new Vets for Pets practice in Horsham and are looking for a passionate, friendly, and experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join us from the very beginning.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new practice, helping to create a positive and supportive team culture while making a genuine difference within the local community.

About Us:

As new practice owners and experienced veterinary surgeons, we are committed to building a collaborative, supportive, and high-quality clinical environment from day one.

  • Elena brings extensive first-opinion experience, excellent clinical skills, and a calm, supportive approach to leadership and team culture.
  • Andrei offers broad clinical expertise, a confident patient-focused mindset, and a genuine passion for teamwork and collaboration.

Together, they are dedicated to creating a friendly, approachable, and high-performing practice where colleagues, clients, and pets all feel truly valued — and where every team member is encouraged to grow and thrive.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you’ll play an essential role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for every visitor.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional client care while supporting the highest standards of patient care
  • Acting as a key link between clients and the clinical team
  • Building strong relationships with clients, their pets, and your colleagues
  • Ensuring every client visit is welcoming, supportive, and professional
  • Greeting clients warmly and providing clear, accurate information and guidance
  • Managing payments and booking appointments confidently
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice using our online booking system
  • Strong computer skills and excellent organisational abilities are essential.

Working Pattern:

As a brand-new practice, we are able to offer both full-time and part-time opportunities.

We believe in supporting a healthy work/life balance and are happy to discuss flexible shift patterns to suit your needs. Some weekend work will be required, but there are no out-of-hours duties.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re searching for someone who is compassionate, organised, and genuinely passionate about customer care and animal wellbeing.

You will ideally have:

  • A warm, friendly, and welcoming manner
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A calm, attentive, and compassionate approach
  • The ability to provide accurate advice and guidance on our services
  • Emotional resilience and sensitivity when supporting clients through difficult situations
  • A positive, proactive attitude and strong team spirit
  • Enthusiasm for creating a supportive and welcoming practice environment

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy being busy, love helping people and their pets, and be motivated to make a positive difference every day.

Benefits:

In return, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • 20% colleague discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home, and Groom Room
  • Access to discounts and cashback schemes
  • In-house career development opportunities
  • Pension scheme
  • Holiday allowance

Location: RH12 1HR

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities.
