Job Description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Redhill Vets for Pets

Our modern, purpose-built practice is bright, spacious, fully air-conditioned, and equipped to industry-leading standards. With state-of-the-art facilities—including digital X-ray and an in-house laboratory—you’ll be working in an environment that supports the highest level of patient care.

In this role, you’ll support our clinical team by carrying out a range of essential non-clinical duties, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and delivering exceptional care to our patients and clients.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career, with potential to develop into a Student Veterinary Nurse role in the future.

This is a Full-Time position working 40 per week with 1 in 4 Saturdays with a salary in line with national minimum wage.

If you share our passion for providing exceptional pet healthcare and outstanding customer service, and you’re excited about becoming part of a supportive and dedicated team, we’d love to hear from you.

The attributes required

  • You are the warm, friendly, and reassuring presence that welcomes clients and their pets as they arrive at the practice.
  • You stay fully informed about our services—along with any additional offerings—so you can confidently guide and support clients.
  • You remain calm, attentive, and focused on client needs, even in busy or emotionally challenging moments.
  • You bring enthusiasm, energy, and a proactive attitude to your role, with a genuine passion for both people and pets.
  • You handle the full range of client experiences with empathy—from supporting someone receiving difficult news to celebrating a new puppy’s first visit.
  • Your positive, approachable personality helps create the warm and friendly atmosphere that our team prides itself on.

In short, you like to be busy, enjoy helping people and their pets and always endeavour to make a difference.

Benefits

In return, we offer such benefits as 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room, access to discounts and cashbacks, in-house career development opportunities, pension and holiday allowance.

Location: RH1 6QL

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
