Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Northwich Vets for Pets.

Our practice is bright, spacious, air-conditioned, and purpose-built to industry-leading standards. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital X-ray and an in-house laboratory, we are conveniently located within Pets at Home at Chester Way Retail Park, close to local amenities, excellent transport links, and just half a mile from Northwich train station.

As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Working closely with the clinical team, you will assist with a range of non-clinical duties while helping to ensure the highest standards of patient care and client service are always maintained.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience within a veterinary environment, particularly those who may wish to progress into a Student Veterinary Nurse role in the future.

About the Role

  • 30-40 hours per week
  • Varied shift pattern between 8:30am and 6:30pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
  • Salary in line with National Minimum Wage

If you are passionate about delivering outstanding pet healthcare, providing exceptional customer service, and would like to be part of a supportive and dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is friendly, approachable, and enjoys being the welcoming face of the practice for clients and their pets.
  • Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive client experience.
  • Is keen to learn and stay up to date with the services offered by the practice.
  • Remains calm, compassionate, and attentive, even in challenging situations.
  • Brings enthusiasm, positivity, and a genuine love of animals to every day.
  • Can provide comfort and support to clients during difficult times, while also sharing in the excitement of milestones such as a new puppy's first visit.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and contributes to a warm, welcoming, and professional practice environment.
  • Thrives in a busy role and is motivated by making a difference to pets, clients, and colleagues alike.

Benefits

In return, we offer:

  • 20% colleague discount across the Vet Group, Pets at Home, and Groom Room
  • Access to a range of discounts and cashback schemes
  • In-house career development and progression opportunities
  • Pension scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Supportive and friendly team environment

If you're looking to start or develop your career within the veterinary industry and want to work in a practice where patient care and customer service are at the heart of everything we do, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: CW9 5JF
