Job Description

Join Our Friendly, Supportive Team

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) or Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN) to join our welcoming team at Leicester Central Vets for Pets.

As a close-knit practice, we're passionate about creating a positive working environment where our nurses feel genuinely valued and empowered to make the most of their skills. From nurse consultations and inpatient care to laboratory work, phlebotomy and Schedule 3 procedures, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care every day.

If you have an interest in exotic species, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated exotics vet, as well as our experienced small animal vet, helping you broaden your clinical experience and develop your interests.

The Role

  • Salary of up to £30,000 DOE
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Flexible working with consideration for a 4-day week
  • Shifts between 8:30am and 7:00pm, shared evenly:
    o 8:30am – 4:30pm
    o 11:00am – 7:00pm
  • No weekends currently, with the possibility of 1 in 4 weekends as the practice grows
  • No out-of-hours
  • RCVS fees paid, with the opportunity for BVNA membership
  • Varied nursing duties including theatre, prep, recovery, inpatient care and nurse consultations
  • 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays
  • Generous CPD allowance with funding and CPD days to support further qualifications
  • Company pension scheme
  • Colleague discounts and a range of high street benefits

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

You'll ideally:

  • Be an RVN or SVN with an interest in small animal practice (an interest in exotics is a bonus!)
  • Be confident, proactive and keen to fully utilise your nursing skills
  • Enjoy a varied workload and thrive in a busy practice
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide outstanding care, even in challenging situations
  • Be kind, honest and supportive, contributing positively to our close-knit team
  • Have an interest in becoming a Clinical Coach and supporting the development of future nurses (desirable)
