Job Description

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join at Biggleswade Vets for Pets!

With a brilliant local reputation, you’ll be joining a strong, inclusive clinical team made up of 1 clinical lead and another vet, 3 RVN's and 2 SVNs with a wealth of experience throughout. We also have a great team of 5 Receptionists to support the client journey, freeing our nurses up to carry out their role effectively. One of our Vets also holds a certificate in ophthalmology.

Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients, including tonometry, ultrasound, a k laser and digital x-rays. Alternative therapies are offered and encouraged including Acupuncture.

This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week over 4 days, with rolling shifts alternating between 8.30am-4.30pm and 11am-7pm. The weekend rota is 1 in 4 (Saturday, 8.30am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm). We are open to discussing fewer days as well, so please get in touch if you feel this role would suit you!

We can offer you:

  • A competitive salary of up to £34,000 (dependant on experience, FTE)
  • A generous CPD allowance (Plus funding towards certificates)
  • 5.6 weeks initial holiday, rising to 6.6 weeks after 2 years’ service!
  • A contributory pension scheme
  • In-house career development opportunity
  • Paid membership fees (RCVS, VDS)
  • Access to the reward hub including wellbeing support and pastoral care
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • 20% discount at Vets for Pets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room

You should have excellent customer service and communication skills, at least 1-2 years of qualified nursing experience and a genuine interest in animal welfare; enjoying the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike.
