Job Description

Registered Veterinary Nurse (Fixed-Term Contract) | Friendly, Supportive Practice

Are you an experienced and passionate RVN looking to join a supportive, forward-thinking team? Our thriving Andover practice is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us on a fixed-term contract and become part of a friendly, welcoming team that genuinely values its people.

Established in 2013, our modern practice has built an excellent reputation within the local community and enjoys a loyal and growing client base. Conveniently located within the Pets at Home store at Enham Arch Retail Park, we offer a central location with ample onsite parking and excellent facilities.

What truly sets us apart is our team. Many of our colleagues have been with us for years, creating a positive, collaborative environment where everyone is supported to develop, contribute, and thrive.

About You

We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic RVN with strong all-round nursing skills and a passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.

You'll be someone who enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, thrives in a team environment, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every day. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service are essential.

We actively encourage our nurses to work to their full potential, including:

  • Schedule 3 nursing
  • Nurse-led clinics
  • Developing strong client relationships
  • Evidence-based nursing practices
  • Taking an active role in patient care and clinical decision-making

The Role

This varied and rewarding role will include:

  • Monitoring anaesthesia
  • Inpatient care
  • Nurse consultations
  • Assisting with surgical and medical procedures
  • Stock ordering and management

We are also fortunate to work alongside visiting ophthalmology, ultrasonography, and soft tissue specialists, providing excellent opportunities to assist with more advanced cases and broaden your clinical experience.

This position is 3 days per week, ideally working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with shifts scheduled between 8:00am and 7:30pm on a rota basis. If these days don't quite fit your availability, we'd still love to hear from you, as we may be able to offer flexibility for the right candidate.

What We Offer

In addition to joining a friendly, supportive team that genuinely cares about your wellbeing and career progression, you'll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary of up to £35,000 FTE (pro rata), dependent on experience
  • No out-of-hours work or overnight inpatient checks
  • Funded RCVS and VDS memberships
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Ongoing CPD and development opportunities
  • Regular social events and a strong focus on wellbeing
  • Exclusive company discounts, including 20% off at Pets at Home and The Groom Room

If you're looking for a practice where your skills will be valued, your development supported, and your wellbeing prioritised, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and take the next step in your nursing career with our fantastic Andover team.

Location: SP10 4DU

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
