Job Description

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a new challenge? At Bolton Central Vets for Pets we have exciting opportunity for you to join our team.

  • Salary starting from £30,000 FTE, DOE
  • Generous CPD allowance and full support of your interests
  • RVN Lead practice
  • There are no Sundays or OOH
  • Supportive and experienced team
  • This is a full time role working 4 days per week

About Us:

Bolton Central Vets for Pets is a locally owned practice, run by RVN Steven who has over 15 years in the veterinary industry. We’re proud to offer the feel of a genuinely local practice, where the team knows each other, our clients and their pets, while still providing the professional standards and clinical opportunities you’d expect from a busy veterinary environment. You’ll be joining a close-knit team made up of 3 Vets, 2 Nurses and 3 Client Care Advisors, working together to provide exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Our practice is in a great location, based on a busy and well-connected retail park. There’s a great selection of shops and places to grab food nearby. We’re just a short 5 minute drive away from Bolton town centre and around 25 minutes to Manchester city centre by train or car, making it easy to enjoy both local charm and big city buzz.

Our welcoming, professional practice is busy and fast paced with a dynamic caseload. There’s always something happening - from surgeries and consults to more complex cases - making it an exciting place to grow your skills. We’re big believers in ongoing development - both clinically and personally. Members of our team have undertaken CPD in areas such as feline medicine, orthopaedics, leadership and mentoring, and client communication. We also have trained mental health first aiders in the practice, helping us maintain a supportive and compassionate environment.

About the Role:

Collectively, our clinical team brings over 40 years of veterinary experience to the table, with a wide range of skills across medicine, surgery, diagnostics and patient care. Our nursing team adds a further 20+ years of combined experience, ensuring excellent standards of inpatient care, anaesthesia, and client support. Our experienced front-of-house team ties it all together — they're welcoming, efficient, and know many of our clients and their pets personally. It’s a knowledgeable, reliable, and close-knit group that thrives on teamwork.

We are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse with at least 2 years post qualification experience. This is a Full Time role working 40 hours per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays 9am to 6pm.

In return, we can offer you:

  • Competitive salary starting from £30,000 dependant on experience and Pro Rata
  • No OOH or overnight in patient checks
  • Generous CPD (including funded Certificates)
  • Social events and emphasis on wellbeing
  • Contributary pension schemes
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company and high street discounts and rewards

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, then we would love to hear from you!

Benefits:

In return, we offer such benefits as 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room, access to discounts and cashbacks, in-house career development opportunities, pension and holiday allowance.

We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference so if you meet our role requirements, we’d love to hear from you.

Location: BL2 1HQ

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
