Are you a natural storyteller with a passion for engaging people and bringing strategy to life? At Pets at Home, we’re looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to help us inspire colleagues, strengthen connections and amplify our purpose across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group & Executive Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful, creative internal communications that engage colleagues and support our strategic priorities. From shaping compelling content to evolving our digital channels, you’ll ensure every message lands with clarity, energy and purpose.

The role offers hybrid working (two office days per week) from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to source and shape engaging content
  • Own and deliver internal communications plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities
  • Curate inspiring stories that connect colleagues to our purpose and celebrate success
  • Manage and evolve key channels including our Intranet and Viva Engage
  • Bring campaigns to life across digital and in-person formats
  • Use data and insights to measure impact and continuously improve engagement
  • Champion innovation in how we communicate, making every interaction meaningful

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in an internal communications role
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and style
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A creative mindset with a flair for engaging, high-quality content
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and influencing at all levels
  • An analytical approach, using data to refine and improve communications
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and a passion for colleague engagement
  • Desirable: Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Viva Engage, Viva Amplify), digital engagement strategies or multimedia content creation
