Experienced Veterinary Surgeon – Flexible Part-Time Role

Salary: Up to £65,000 (Pro Rata)
Hours: 20–30 per week (Friday, Saturday + 1 flexible weekday)

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team at Vets for Pets Staines in a flexible part-time role.

If you’re confident in your clinical ability, enjoy a varied but largely routine caseload, and want to be part of a genuinely close-knit team that values both professionalism and people, this could be a great fit.

About Us

We’re a small but experienced and highly supportive team of seven, made up of:

  • 1 Full Time Veterinary Surgeon
  • 3 Qualified Veterinary Nurses (One of which is the Practice Manager / Practice Owner)
  • 3 Client Care Assistants / Receptionists

Between us, we bring over 30 years of combined experience, and we take real pride in maintaining a friendly, collaborative, and supportive working environment.

We place strong emphasis on wellbeing and support within the team, with access to:

  • Clinical Supervisor

  • Trained First Aiders

Our caseload is primarily routine consultations and preventative care, with the occasional more complex case to keep things varied and engaging.

Our practice is modern and well-equipped, including:

  • In-house laboratory
  • Digital X-ray & dental X-ray
  • Dedicated dental suite & theatre
  • Ultrasound
  • Tonometry pen
  • Glass kennels

The Role

We’re looking for a confident, experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable working independently and managing sole charge when required.

This is a part-time role covering:

  • Fridays (9am–7pm)
  • Saturdays (9am–5pm)
  • One additional flexible weekday

Total: 20–30 hours per week

You’ll have the autonomy to work cases up appropriately, while being fully supported by a welcoming and experienced team.

About You

We’re ideally looking for a vet who:

  • Has solid experience in first-opinion practice
  • Is confident with routine consultations and procedures
  • Is comfortable with sole charge
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a close team
  • Values strong client relationships and continuity of care
  • Brings a calm, confident, and professional approach
