Are you ready to lead engagement and communications for a transformative offshore wind portfolio? We're seeking a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to shape and implement strategies that will drive the success of our Dutch offshore wind projects.

The Offshore Stakeholder Engagement team is an international team with representation in all Vattenfall’s key markets. We are involved throughout the offshore wind value chain, from pre-tender, through the tendering phase, project delivery, and throughout the operational phase. We support our license to operate by bridging our projects and the external world through mutual gains value creation and generating public support.

You will become a key member of the Stakeholder Engagement team, and will work closely with (international) colleagues in the Dutch projects and international fellow stakeholder engagement managers.

Your role / what will you do?

We are looking for a candidate with several years managing stakeholder engagement processes, able to design and deliver effective communications and meaningful dialogue. They must have a good understanding of potential concerns, interests and needs of stakeholders on local, regional and national levels, ranging from local communities to NGOs and stakeholders of the North Sea. You will facilitate effective collaboration within the project team on activities and deliverables related to stakeholder engagement.

Your responsibilities as Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will work with Project and Consents Managers and be part of an international team of Stakeholder and Community Engagement advisors, benefitting from huge collective experience, while also operating autonomously within your brief.

This will involve opportunities to:

  • Design, implement and steer execution of the Engagement & Communications Strategy for the development of the Zeevonk project and the operations of the Hollandse Kust Zuid project.
  • Design, implement and steer execution of the Engagement & Communications Strategy for the offshore wind development pipeline of Vattenfall in the Netherlands.
  • Undertake regular stakeholder mapping to inform the design and manage engagement processes, which include varied communities (marine users, local stakeholders, (inter)national organizations, rural, urban, highly engaged and seldom heard etc.).
  • Align with internal experts, project and consent managers on relevant topics like ecology, safety, sustainability and innovation, to ensure our activities and messaging aligns with project and our corporate purpose and aims
  • Align with the Market Development Director, Public and Regulatory Affairs and Media Relations colleagues on topics, stakeholders and communications, ensuring all communications and messaging aligns with corporate purpose and aims
  • Represent Vattenfall in stakeholder forums and be the first point of contact for project stakeholders and communities and interface effectively, enabling meaningful, two-way dialogue which leads to enhanced experiences of the projects’ development, delivery and operations
  • You will also be required to promote a safety-conscious and sustainable environment


Location
Amsterdam, regular travel within the Netherlands and occasional international travel to Vattenfall locations.

Qualifications

Your profile / who are you?

Are you an experienced professional with a passion for engaging communities and stakeholders on high-impact projects? We’re looking for someone with at least five years of experience in community and stakeholder engagement, particularly on large-scale projects, with a background in major infrastructure construction as a strong advantage. You'll bring established networks and connections, an approachable and engaging personality, and a talent for listening and building positive rapport with a range of stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills in both Dutch and English, paired with creativity for producing custom communication materials and digital content, are essential. If you’re flexible, can manage multiple priorities, and have a keen attention to detail.

A graduate with a degree, preferably in communications, psychology, community or international development, or other related social science.
