Whether these systems are hosted in data centers or within network infrastructure, this team ensures seamless communication between applications and services across the network. Their core responsibilities include managing firewall rules and configuring necessary openings, which requires a deep understanding of network traffic patterns and organizational security requirements. They collaborate closely with the security team to maintain a secure network infrastructure. In addition to security, this team optimizes network performance by managing traffic flow and working with network operations to select the most efficient routes. As leaders within the network department, they also support other network teams in transitioning to an automated delivery model.
