The Role

We are recruiting a Technical Analyst (Network Assurance) to ensure the accuracy, consistency and reliability of operational and performance data across our Water Network. Your work will strengthen data integrity, support informed decision making and help maintain regulatory compliance.

You will work within a specialist Technical Assurance team, providing independent oversight of activity recording, asset‑failure reporting, Operational Risk Assessments and RCFA reviews. You will also support the wider Network Technical Team by delivering performance insights, promoting operational excellence and embedding standardised processes across all network hubs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality and Governance

  • Maintain the integrity of end‑to‑end operational data
  • Ensure compliance with licence‑to‑operate and internal data standards
  • Lead governance of Network, Customer and Leakage asset‑failure recording, ensuring accurate RCFA justification

Operational Risk and Performance Insight

  • Oversee Operational Risk Assessment processes and ensure correct identification of activities
  • Provide reliable performance insights that highlight issues and improvement opportunities

Continuous Improvement and Technical Excellence

  • Contribute to operational excellence across all network hubs
  • Support the creation and delivery of improvement plans that deliver measurable impact
  • Assist the Senior Technical Analyst with independent technical advice across local and regional teams
  • Promote consistent quality standards and help embed best practice and process standardisation

Technical Review Support

  • Provide impartial administrative support for technical reviews, ensuring accurate and objective documentation

Skills & Experience

Technical and Analytical

  • Strong capability in analysing large datasets and generating meaningful insights
  • Experience using Exasol, Tableau, ArcMap, Netbase, STS and WaterCore
  • Confident Excel skills for data extraction, analysis and report creation

Communication and Collaboration

  • Skilled communicator able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong relationship building skills across operational and technical teams

Operational Awareness

  • Understanding of Water Network operations and wider utilities sector drivers
  • Ability to provide on‑site support across network locations

Problem Solving and Prioritisation

  • Logical thinker able to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions
  • Able to manage competing demands and deliver high‑quality work under pressure
  • Committed to continuous improvement and operational optimisation

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (grades 9 to 4) in Maths, English and Science or relevant experience in Water Network operations
  • Full UK driving licence
