Job Description
The Role
This is a senior role at the heart of how we understand, improve and evidence asset performance across the business. You won’t sit on the sidelines—you’ll be embedded close to operations, shaping how asset lifecycle principles translate into real-world delivery.
You’ll take ownership of our asset lifecycle maturity—sustaining what’s already in place, challenging where improvement is needed, and leading the organisation forward. This role balances assurances with action, translating standards and insight into meaningful, operational outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Leading coordination of asset lifecycle activity across the business
- Maintaining and evolving our position latest ISO 55001 standards
- Coordinate and drive asset management maturity assessments, translating findings into clear, prioritised improvement actions.
- Driving improvements aligned to asset maturity frameworks (e.g. SAM+)
- Identifying gaps, non-conformances and improvement opportunities—and making sure they’re addressed
- Ensure asset lifecycle principles are consistently applied across asset planning, delivery and operational activities.
- Preparing the business for key audits and surveillance activity (including upcoming deadlines)
- Engaging stakeholders across the business to build a shared understanding of asset lifecycle principles
- Creating a consistent “asset management voice” across teams
- Supporting development of training and awareness to embed lifecycle thinking
- Lead and develop a small specialist team, building capability and confidence in asset lifecycle management
- Maintain/develop our internal IAM certification training to grow our asset management business knowledge.
- Identify and manage asset management risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Provide expert advice and assurance to senior leaders and key stakeholders
What you'll bring
We’re looking for someone who understands asset management deeply—but more importantly, can apply it in a live operational environment.
You’ll will have:
- Full valid UK driving license as some site travel will be required.
- Strong experience in asset lifecycle / asset management environments
- Working knowledge of ISO 55001 and asset maturity models
- Experience supporting or leading audit readiness and compliance activity
- Ability to translate technical frameworks into practical action
- Confidence engaging stakeholders across different levels internally and externally
- A track record of driving improvement, not just maintaining standards
- Leadership capability with a focus on development
- Understanding of the regulatory frameworks and company business plan, strategic direction.
- Highly numerate with a well-developed understanding of business case development and the benefits framework requirements and workings.
Qualifications:
- IAM Diploma (or working towards)
Why this role stands out
- You’ll be working closer to operations
- You’ll directly influence how the business performs against external scrutiny.
