Job Description

Role details

Location: Lingley Mere, Warrington
Salary: Competitive + 10.5% Bonus
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time
Work Type: Hybrid

At United Utilities, our purpose is to deliver great water for a stronger, greener and healthier North West. Every day, we invest in critical infrastructure that supports millions of customers, protects the environment and enables sustainable growth across the region.

We're looking for an experienced and technically driven Senior ARDR Specialist to join our Capital Engineering & Construction team at Lingley Mere. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the management, governance and continuous improvement of Asset Registration and De-Registration (ARDR) activities across a diverse portfolio of capital projects.

As a subject matter expert, you'll help ensure the integrity of United Utilities' corporate asset base, providing technical leadership, mentoring colleagues and driving best practice across the capital programme.

The Role

As a Senior ARDR Specialist, you will provide technical leadership for asset registration and de-registration activities throughout the lifecycle of major capital projects.

You'll ensure assets are registered, validated and maintained in accordance with United Utilities' Asset Data Hierarchy (ADH) requirements, supporting the delivery of high-quality asset information that enables effective asset management, operational readiness and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with engineering, operations, commissioning teams, contractors and project stakeholders, you'll play a central role in ensuring asset information is accurate, complete and readily available to support business operations.

Alongside your technical responsibilities, you'll support and mentor a team of ARDR Specialists, helping to establish consistent standards, improve processes and drive excellence across the function.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the delivery of Asset Registration and De-Registration activities across a portfolio of capital projects.
  • Ensuring assets are registered, validated and updated in accordance with United Utilities governance requirements and Asset Data Hierarchy standards.
  • Providing day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring and support to a small team of ARDR Specialists.
  • Supporting workload planning and prioritisation to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
  • Managing early registration, draft submissions, final submissions and post-final asset updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Validating ADH codes to support project progression, telemetry integration, URS development and operational readiness activities.
  • Ensuring compliant asset tagging, P&IDs and supporting documentation are in place to facilitate asset registration.
  • Managing data within United Utilities' ARDR and SAP systems, maintaining high levels of accuracy, quality and completeness.
  • Conducting site visits, surveys and inspections to collect and verify asset information across treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs and network assets.
  • Recording and maintaining asset specifications, locations, operational attributes, installation details and condition information within corporate systems.
  • Coordinating the de-registration of redundant or obsolete assets and ensuring supporting records are updated accordingly.
  • Representing United Utilities at project meetings with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with engineering, commissioning, operational and regulatory teams to ensure ARDR requirements are embedded throughout project delivery.
  • Performing audits and quality assurance reviews to verify compliance with asset data standards.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly organised and technically capable professional with a passion for asset data management, governance and continuous improvement.

You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in asset registration, asset data governance, technical deliverables or asset information management.
  • Experience working within a capital delivery, infrastructure, utilities or asset management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of asset registration processes and asset lifecycle management.
  • A good understanding of United Utilities' Asset Data Hierarchy (ADH) principles and associated governance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information and datasets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Experience providing technical support, coaching or mentoring to colleagues.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with project teams, contractors and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing competing priorities whilst maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, network assets and associated infrastructure.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering, technical, construction, asset management or related discipline.
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
